We Choose Detroit Ambassador Training

Are you a non-profit executive or program leader who wants to learn how to secure more significant media coverage? Or are you a non-profit communicator and want to learn how to generate stories and build media relationhships? This workshop will help you secure informative and engaging news coverage. Newsworthiness is not the only factor driving media coverage -- articulating your message, pose, consistency, follow-through and relationships drive story placement just as much. During this workshop, you will start by learning how to develop your key message platform based on your goals and current events. Then, you will perform exercises in pitching stories and responding to the media, as well as learn how you can collaborate with the media to generate stories that alter public opinion for the benefit of your services. At the workshop's conclusion, you will leave with your own toolkit. This workshop is facilitated by Bryan Peckinpaugh who has worked with elected officials the past three years and was a national media trainer for the America Red Cross and led its Detroit area media team.

We Choose Detroit Ambassador Training What is Detroit? Who lives, works and plays in Detroit? Do you understand the intricate beauty of Detroit and the actual statistics not widely reported? For instance, did you know that Detroit had the largest number of tech jobs created in the entire nation in 2010? Or did you know that downtown Detroit and Midtown Detroit are one of the safest areas of the entire metropolitan region? When you meet someone on the street or in a restaurant, can you articulate the truth about Detroit and what it has to offer? Can you alter perception? Can you share about the cultural offerings? Evolve-Engage Strategies is offering a workshop to provide you with the insight, facts and tools to be a Detroit Ambassador within the region and as you travel throughout the country and world for work and play. The workshop will also provide you with Detroit's hidden gems to visit. There is a preferred donation to attend this workshop which will benefit the Detroit Historical Museum.
